Over in our help section, we posted a few notes about how you can broaden or focus your search by using two operators– a minus sign (”-”) and a vertical slash (”|”).

Adding a minus sign in front of any word in your search phrase will exclude deals containing that word from your results. This “negative term” enables you to filter out ink and toner cartridges when you’re searching for a new printer. And, it allows you to narrow your digital camera search results to every color besides silver.

With the inclusion of a vertical slash in your search phrase, you can combine two separate queries (Garmin Nuvi 360 and Garmin Nuvi 660) into one (Garmin Nuvi 360|660). This operator is especially useful if you want to keep tabs of prices changes on two different products, say the Samsung LN46A650 and Panasonic TH46PZ85U. In which case you would search LN46A650|TH46PZ85U and click the "Subscribe" link just above the results.
